Romantic 'Louis Panormo'

Description

Louis Panormo was a historically significant Romantic guitar maker active in London. His instruments were heavily influenced by Spanish Romantic guitar makers, and are built in the Spanish style, featuring fan bracing. The phrase “the only maker of Guitars in the Spanish Style,” found on the original instrument labels, reflects the maker’s identity and artistic positioning.

HyeongGeon’s Louis Panormo reproduction model is based on Panormo’s 1843 LP2014 model. Grounded in academic research—particularly Lee’s study “A Structural and Historical Study of Louis Panormo Guitars”—this reproduction faithfully recreates the original instrument through details such as a maple crescent-shaped head, an ebony bridge with an extended rear section, and a historically informed rosette design.

The “Rance”-style Alessi tuning machines are also crafted in reference to the original machines fitted on the historical instrument, preserving their distinctive characteristics.
